Formed by vocalist\/lyricist David Priest and guitarist David Estrada, Southern California based thrashers Death Protocol joined the Rottweiler Records roster at the dawn of 2025, announcing the alliance with their first single, ‘Times Change Truth Does Not’. With its blend of muscular riffs and magnificent choruses ‘Times Change Truth Does Not’ was the perfect introduction to this new voice on the US melodic thrash metal scene and it paved the way for a second single, ‘Demonic Onslaught’, unleashed in June of 2025. ‘Demonic Onslaught’ hit even harder than its predecessor and became a fixture on radio playlists in Europe and the US and since last summer fans have been waiting eagerly for their next dose of Death Protocol metal. Well, at long last, the band’s third single is here and set to detonate on June 26th – prepare for ‘Illusion Of Faith’!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strident, forceful and richly melodic ‘Illusion Of Faith’ is fiercely focussed and relentless in its determined progress. The armour-plated riffs power through everything in their path, carried forward by a remorseless rhythmic engine. Meanwhile a stunning triumvirate of distinctly different vocalists tell the song’s story. David Priest delivers the mid-range verses with strength and intensity before the legendary Sean Peck – of Cage, Death Dealer and The Three Tremors – adds his stunning, stratospheric highs with his customary control and remarkable range. Completing this ambitious vocal spectrum, Luke Renno of Crimson Thorn and a recent addition to the current live line-up of the renowned Mortification, serves up a chorus of colossal, guttural depth. The three vocal approaches work superbly together, bringing a brilliant, expanded palette to the Death Protocol sound. And amongst the vocal magnificence there’s still space for a dazzling starburst guitar solo as well – an integral element of any Death Protocol track! They may have kept us waiting, but ‘Illusion Of Faith’ does not disappoint – this is the most complete and accomplished offering from Death Protocol yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mixed and mastered by Derek Corzine at Corzine Studio in Amarillo, Texas (Frost Like Ashes, Horrid Demise, Faustian Slip etc) ‘Illusion Of Faith’ sounds as crisp, vibrant and electrifying as Death Protocol fans have come to expect.
